As a part of the National Science Challenges, we teamed up with the research organisation, the Cawthron Institute, to help track what is being done to help improve our waterways. Envisioned first as a database of existing work being done to improve the waterways, we looked at how we can get Kiwi’s to help record their actions and share the stories of what is being done. This database of actions will help New Zealand understand what actions have impacts on water quality outcomes.

As the designer on this project, my role collaboratively worked with a wide project team including scientists and Iwi liaison consultants to create a piece of software that approached caring for the water from both a holistic perspective and qualitative perspective.
